wow. havent blogged in a few days. the place getting dusty. hahaha

anw these few days have been pretty uneventful for me. apart from saturday, at least. it was alot of stuff happening, but nth much to blog abt. dance prac in the morning for the ignis walk in. it was mostly the partner dance that day. (tiffany - no ur not very heavy at all. hahaha) after tt it was my baby brother's bdae celebration. nothing much to say also. his bdae hasn arrived yet anw. hahaha

so yeah. nov is coming to an end. and i havent touched my hw. yayness. i'm sooo saved la. saved by hol hw. haaha. sounds so sarcastic. no wait. it was supp to be sarcastic. er. yeah.

well. in line with wanru's request, i shall complain abt smt more er. smt else today. hahaha

well lessee. its abt our educational system. no wait. its not. its more like. abt sch policies. so lets start like this:

a school is a place of education, is it not?

think about it. a school is a place of education. what does that bring to ur mind? i'm sure it wld be smt like learning in classrooms, or studying with friends in the canteen or smt. yeah. place of education. so lets look at another thing. this means that teachers that work in a school are supposed to be educators. educators. what does that bring to ur mind again? i guess it wld be smt like the teacher teaching the students, or correcting mistakes in their concepts.

well what is all this for? okay i say this now. this entire post is dedicated to the cause of making my coloured hair legal in school. hahaha

so, since i've alr set up the foundation for this post, lets begin. a teacher's job is to 'mould the future of our nation', i'd reckon. but tts a little too general. so lets try this. a teacher is supposed to educate the young. i believe noone should disagree with this.

so why are these educators wasting their time catching students with 'disciplinary problems'? please note that disciplinary problems was in quotation marks. catching a student for theft in school is not a problem. but catching a student for a tucked-out uniform, or coloured hair. are those disciplinary problems?

the school rules state that a student must have the proper uniform and a neat haircut. the terms 'neat' and 'proper' are defined clearly elsewhere, so i shall stick to those definitions. however my problem is how those definitions came about. why does a school need a uniform? to instill a sense of identity, so it says. does NUS haf such a problem? perhaps NUS is an exception. so, do any universities have this problem? what about our polytechnics? all these students are allowed to wear their home uniform, and they still feel as though they belong to the school. i believe i have made my point.

next reason as to why a school needs a uniform: prevent the problem of the poorer students being envious of the richer students for what they wear. i feel that this reason is adequate. makes sense to me. so wait. why does the uniform have to be worn properly anyway? so maybe teachers feel that it is to make the students look 'smart'. our educators are supposed to educate students on the subjects that they are supposed to specialise in. but noone can deny the civic duty of a teacher to instill moral values into our young. but wait. i still dont see where the 'tucked in' uniform part comes in. so it doesnt look neat.

another point i wish to bring up is that a school often brings up the issue of how important their students are to them. in this case, the school thus often states that the uniform is made such that it is comfortable for the students. so in this case a student's comfort is of priority. so, if the student intentionally tucked out his uniform, would it not mean that he preferred it that way? perhaps it was more comfortable tucked out. so it isnt neat. its more comfortable though. shouldnt tt be top priority? (another question here is why a school wants its students to look 'smart': to protect the student's image or theirs?)

actually the uniform stuff doesnt really matter to me. i dont really care. i feel comfortable in the uniform anyway and i rarely tuck out. as i mentioned before, the purpose of this post is to make people feel that my hair should be made legal too. x) so, onto the hair part.

so, people say that coloured hair is a disciplinary problem. i wonder why. schools encourage creativity. this is such a cliched argument, but it makes sense. if they control our dressing (point of note: there was a news article awhile back that addressed the issue of ladies in singapore all dressing in the same style), that is one avenue less for the expression of creativity. now they control our hairdo? so they control it alot less (i'm not gonna say anything about the army) than the uniform. however they impose a strict limit on the length of a guy's hair. we are thus left with a few hairdos. next they ban coloured hair. (whee!) school - 2. creativity - 0.

but waaaait. is coloured hair a 'disciplinary problem'? okay. so it is, since 'discipline' is defined as a set of rules or methods. but why do those rules disallow coloured hair? okay here i will leave the floor open for response, since i only have 2 reasons. please tag if u wish.

well anyway, the first, as said by *lhb* (name censored for privacy. i dont think it really works anyway. hahaha) a few years back. he mentioned that a student with a 'disciplinary problem' will not study well. ER WHAT?! okay sorry for the angsty outbreak. but i believe that this does not make sense with respect to the uniform or coloured hair issue. i strongly feel that people with such 'disciplinary problems' can still study well. i shall provide two examples. the first example is well. er. me? haha =x i know its super ego. but please bear with me. =x well everyone knows me as the dude with the hair. meaning its long and coloured. but one cannot deny that i did pretty well for the promotional exams. and my prelims last year as well. (random thought: screw the o's. haha) okay. ego part over. the next exception is einstein. NOONE can deny tt he's not smart. okay so he made a few mistakes here and there esp relating to DC and AC electricity supplies for domestic use (am i correct? =x) but still. he's a genius and few can say otherwise. but has anyone noticed his hair? its messy as anything. if a dude were to go to school with that hairdo i'm sure *sp* (name censored for privacy) would love him. two negative proofs to the rule. also, the fact that there are other people with 'disciplinary problems' in other top jcs should show us that people with the said 'problems' can indeed study. i feel that it is but a fallacy to say that prople with the problems are unable to study properly.

next, the teachers want the student to look 'smart'. wow hey, this is getting to be quite the excuse. hahaha. okay that was just a random thought by me. anyway yeah. what's with this 'smart' stuff? its sooo similar to the previous paragraph. i wont repeat myself.

students of our age will know when to look what. i know that schools are often trying to push us to the limits so that we are ready for the working world. as such they impose the same 'pushing' onto our attire and our image. however, i believe that students will wake up to the moment and dress properly when the time calls for it. for instance, an example close to our hearts. grad night. will everyone not go well dressed? there will be one or two exceptions that go to the event dressed in ridiculous outfits (anyone remember our ch crossdresser? =x) but i'm sure the rest know what they are supposed to do. hence i feel that it is not worthwhile wasting time teaching students how to dress formally or have a proper hairdo. the time will come when a student realises that his time is more 'formal' and he has to have a more fitting haircut.

however this is not the time. i believe that most of us now only need proper haircuts for school. in school we are not required to 'please' people as working people need to, such as their bosses (who pay them) or their potential customers (who might pay them). we need not please our teachers (who are paid with our parents' money), or our principal (who is also paid with our parents' money). the exception to this is perhaps an examiner. however i'm sure that the student that wants to have his marks in his presentation or oral exam would be properly attired that day. so then, why would we need to have a 'proper' haircut now? must we look good for our teachers? they dont automatically 'deserve' it. they earn it. as they do their pay. and their respect. a good teacher will automatically gain the respect of his/her students such that even the most filthy looking student will feel bad in the teacher's presence and apologise.

hence i believe that the entire concept of a bad hairdo or messy uniform as a 'disciplinary problem' is bad. screwed. should-die.

ah. now that all tt teenage angst is over i can finally take a break and a nap. hahaha =x gd way to spend a boring afternoon larh. but anw i really want comments on wad i wrote, so it wld be nice if u all (my readers) cld like tag and tell me if the argument is gd or bad or whatsoever. gd prac for ki larh. =x oh btw i did a wordcount for the entire passage and its like 1497 words. hope ur eyes arent like burning or spurting blood or smt. hahaha =x

wad i always wanted to argue is whether a sch considered its image/welfare more impt than its students. a talk by lhb to the sec 2 students in cat high during my year was quite erm. stimulating. cos he wanted the sec 2s to stay and nt go to nj for the ip programme. then he whacked them with all tt loyalty to alma mater stuff. so i was tinking, does he question the fact tt they wanna choose for their own lives and go to where they tink is better for them? so its like if they wanna go to a sch they consider is better, let them larh! why like scold them and brainwash the rest, yaknow.

well anw i'm not gonna do another argumentative essay. this one alr took me like half an hr. hahaha. but like i said, its a gd way to kill the afternoon x)

well it was alot of arcade larh. i tink the people tt totally din enjoy themselves were jaclyn and alex (zhang). but jaclyn got into the mood soon enuff. even tho she came like 1 hr late. grrr. anw alex super sad larh. he come for a short while, almost joined us for dinner, din do anything much, then realised tt he had lost his wallet. he ran (alone) to the arcade, and then cldn find his wallet. he then ran home and made a police report. damn sad larh. come here, din haf much fun, then go home one wallet lighter. =
anw! on with the happier stuff. CAMWHORING. hahaha. the bunch of us like totally camwhored larh. i tink we had at least 20-30 pics? okay la. i know its nt much to some experienced camwhores, but this is alot for me. haha. *ding! record!* anw i dun haf any of the pics here. they're all on the other ppl's handfones. shd be uploaded to the s21 blog soon *hint hint*. haha =x

but really arh. i tink our xs21 outings like really all arcade de. today wanted to watch step up but there was a strong rebellion against the idea. so we had to stone. and where's the best place to stone? arcade. so there we were before and after dinner. there really wasn much time left (or rather we spent alot of time at the arcade) cos of *ahem* someone tt wanted to stay home and mug. wont put names here, but (omg) it wasnt haikal. hahaha x)

so onto my own stuff. DRUMMING. MUARHARHARH. i alllllllllllllllmost passed timepiece phase II. bleh. first time just died like halfway. 2nd time i got whacked at like the last 15 seconds of the song. third time the machine got turned off halfway. (anyone wanna reminisce the s14 chalet? hahaha) screw them larh. keep turning my machine off while i'm doing smt awesome. hahaha =x

and well, more drumming. i realised tt this bunch of ppl got potential in drums leh. tt yuehhsin is like as pro as ever larh. yeah. tt last some doesnt count. haha. but yeah! she's gd. another black horse is jielin. nv expected her to be able to do anything on the drums since she screwed up real bad last time. but this time she got good. and jerrine too. this one i dunnid say. improved alot. haha. eh. how come all girls' names. WHERE ARE THE GUYS?! okay. all din wanna play. hahaha.

well yeah. fun outing. got to see so many ppl tt i never see for so long. haha. and camwhore like never before. and hog the arcade machines like its nobody's business also.

its quite the boring saturday afternoon.. geez.

anw just now while i was omw to meet michelle i saw quite the spectacle. but before that! MICHELLE u owe me a treat for making me wait for u for 40 mins k. hahaha =x

well anw. i saw this dude.. i dunno wad race he was cos he looked abit like everything. but he was being super kaobei la. i was on the same bus as he was all the way to the station, where i was behind him for awhile until sme else happened.

well the first event is that we were on the bus. the bus captain (who, fyi, is an elderly lady) asked him to tap his card before entering. apparently she missed the moment when he tapped his card la. so he like practically shouted all over her la. 'next time see properly then say la! dun see people like this then anyhow say okay! (i tink he's making a reference to a racist comment)' fking kaobei. after tt he still stand there and stare at her for i dunno. 10 seconds before moving off. basket. wanted to give him a piece of my fist la. luckily he stopped there.

so the rest of the bus ride was kinda peaceful. when i got off the bus i looked out for him but i cldn find him. o wells. anw, the rest of this para will be very blur to ppl tt dont frequent the bishan bus interchange. and after walking a couple metres from the area where the buses usually let us off, near newsstands i saw another spectacle happening.

i dint see how it happened, but that little guy rolled onto the floor out of nowhere and gave a man in the queue a stare of death. heheh. he must haf been tripped by that dude. but i swear his 'rolling' effect was greatly exaggerated. when one gets tripped and falls onto the floor, would one like somersault one or two times before screeching to a halt? haha. i'm sure he was up to no good. so i continued watching him.

while i waited at the mrt station, he was there again. apparently now harassing (okay i disclaim: i cant prove tt he was doing so. i just like that word x)) people at the transaction machines. i dunno wad was happening, but for at least 15 minutes he was at the front of the queue 'helping' ppl, or asking for help, with the machine. it was only after tt that he abruptly left the machine and went into the station.

its fun watching people tt behave suspiciously. hahaha. but its a pity tt some people attract too much attention and curious little 17 year old boys watch them as tho they were fbi detectives. its not fun anymore tt way. hahaha

well anw. its been quite the boring afternoon. i wonder how the evening wld turn out.

I'M BACKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!

hahaha. i sound abit rabid rite. =x so well. the chalet dint turn out to be as boring as i expected it wld be. x) even tho those unsightly ominous visions did appear here and there, on the whole i had fun. APPLAUSE!! haha. kidding =x

since it was a class blog anw, i believe there wld be other blogs with details and/or accounts. so i wont post much stuff tt i believe many ppl did. lazy me. hahaha =x i shd instead post like er. personal events. x)

well i tink we shd go in chronological order. so first ting after we reached the chalet i received a piece of gd news regarding original gay losers. hahaha. inside story x) so yeah. tts it for this segment.

later on in the day it got boring and i began to zi4 bi4. tt was the beginning of my hanging out with a different gang of ppl. nina invited me to go play blackmail (yeah nv hear before rite. haha) and i obliged. played with nina, shihua, jennifer and sumin. and then i stuck to them, along with wenhao, for the rest of the evening.


I DINT SLEEP FOR 38 HRS!!! hahaha =x


on the 2nd day was the bbq! but before that, i played magic with rong'en. yeah. 3 rds. died in two, the first cos i had a terribly shuffed deck. no lands until 5th turn, then one on 6th, then the next wasnt gonna come for like another 7 turns. haha. the 2nd was cos he used his gay artifact deck (that consists of roughly half a deck of tournament banned cards =x). so yeah. i fared okay. hahaha

the bbq was boring. to me, at least. it was kinda like a reunion of sorts for the older s14 ppl so well. felt kinda left out larh. but let them. haha. its not everyday tt they get to see their old friends, esp those tt are in other schs. so give them chance larh. haha. (eh nina i wasnt pissed o.o;) lucky eileen was around. self-entertained with her for like one and a half hrs. haha. talked abt all sorts of weird random stuff. hahaa.

the 2nd night was good. slept like a pig all the way thru. and kicked haikal off the bed, apparently. hahaha =x

3rd morning was stoning time. after checkout, breakfast then home. which is like er. now. haha. but breakfast was kinda funny. see the pic up tops? it was done using a concoction of erm. chilli sauce and a pack of sugar. supp to be used for zong1 ji2 mi4 ma3 but it was rejected cos most of us wanted to live at least until graduation. or just simply to not hafta get off the train cos of diarrhoea. haha =x credit to jennifer for the artistic skillz. hahaha

yup. i guess tts it for all i wanna say. for now, at least. haha. if anymore i'll like ps and pps and all tt stuff. or maybe tmr entry or smt.

but all in all, i guess the chalet was gd. class bonding (at least for me =x) and fun. even though it was kinda (super) sian during the bbq, the rest of the day was fun. and i set a record too! erm. personal best la. haha. 38 hrs. maybe i can beat tt during the 2703 chalet. lalala. x)

no comments. i wont say anything. i dont wanna remember anything. all i can say is: PW IS OVER.

so we're sorta stuck in the world inbetween jc1 and jc2. and this world is sorta well. fun. haha. our first (and maybe last? =x) was today.

a simple trip to gelare (on half price tuesday lalala) and some fun card games after tt. tts abt it. haha. just some simple bonding larh. and its not class bonding k. haha. 9 ppl out of 25? doesnt make sense la.

anw wad was very infuriating was the wait for the bus. aaron eileen and i were at the busstop. blindly waiting for our busses. so we waited. and waited. not a single 162, 960 nor 961 came. not a single one. in FOURTY minutes. 40 k. yes. tts four zero. not zero four. so we (eileen and i) got frustrated and went back to the mrt. aaron took an alternative service. that wasnt direct. so we bitched abt it all the way home.

later on, we realised tt 162 does not ply along marina square on weekdays. WTF.

and aaron realised tt he took the same 171 3 times in one day. yup, same bus. so tt means its time to buy 4-d. hahaha.

tts it. chalet tmr. i haf.. a bad feeling abt it.

today was a erm. whole day outing for me. haha. outing but yet erm. boring.

no details. i'll just give some er. random thoughts. haha. been feeling quite random today.

i think vivo is gonna turn into some heartland mall. its supp to be an upperclass place rite. with boutiques like gap, topshop, mango etc. but erm. just a thought. i dont really see many of those 'orchard-type' ppl walking ard. i see alot of aunties and uncles tho. haha =x sooner or later those expensive stuff shops are gonna close down. haha. i mean which of us are gonna buy a $600 leather jacket? or like some $125 shirt. i tink most of us wun la. vivo is just located at a bad place. its like in the middle of nowhere. nearby is all the construction and ports stuff. apart frm being near sentosa and stuff.. dunno larh. it's still new so like some of its stuff is still closed.

another random thought - wtf is the vivo management trying to do. hahaha. the place is full of expensive boutiques rite. so kinda expected it is kinda short on fastfood. but it has a huge foodcourt. and erm. maybe an eating outlet or two here and there. *looks around* everyone is gonna STARVE. hahaha. so with all this expensive stuff around, i wonder if everything is gonna be catered to adults and stuff. but noo they haf stuff like toys r us. and an arcade. seriously la. if ur gonna cater to expensive ppl then do so. if ur gonna become a mall for everyone THEN GIVE THE TEENS MORE STUFF!! when haf u ever seen a sec 2 girl go into a shopping centre, hoping to go shopping then saying its boring?! its nuts. hahaa

okay. enough criticising vivo alr. i just think its a bad place. my own opinion. the cinema's nice tho. the arcade sucks. and erm. yeah. that's abt it with vivo. haha. oh btw! the foodcourt is HUGE. but it has fault chairs. AND ALOT OF FOOD. but theres very few other eating places. or maybe i just din see them. ah whatever!! enuff with vivo. haha

so erm. i see people changing their blogskins here and there. actually a wk ago i prepared a blogskin too. but i.. dunno. it satisfies the condition of 'pink', but erm. i tink it sucks. been touching it up here and there but still i tink its terrible. the style is very similar to this one, so yeah. its similar. but its pink, and its my work, and i dont really like it. but i might put it up soon anw. its motivation to create a new, better skin. haha.

apart from that... my whole day's been bland. -.-; i dint study chinese at all tho. i feel screwed for tmr and i dont feel like doing anyth abt it. heheh =x yay for chinese. its soooo totally confirmedddddddd an A. actually i tink the most imp abt this freaking paper is tt i sub-pass it so tt i dun gotta take chinese next year. HOOHAH. sub-pass. yes. tt shd do. i'd never take a sub-pass for anything else, but hey! this is chinese. haha

well maybe its kinda expected but i'm gonna post all my thanks and stuff here. haha. no names tho. it gets old. hahah. here goes.

first off! i wanna thank the people (actually theres only 2) tt *kinda* counted down my bdae for me. haha. as in. they were there with the intention of wishing me happy bdae, and they like told me its like an hr to my bdae, 10 mins to my bdae etc. haha. THANK YOU TWO!

after tt!! XUHAU JOEL and TOMMY!!! hahha. lovely day spent today rite. except er. tommy. who had sch. BUT! ur stil thanked anw. hahaah. and well. i dunno if its me or the ice skating tts cursed, but xuhau came down with a flu and fever after the outing, and joel injured his left foot during the ice skating. =\ but still! i'm sure u had fun. hahaha.

after tt!! all the people here and there tt wished me during the course of the day. alot of unexpected people tho. haha. sorta din expect them to rmb. or even know. =x theres too many to count here. hahaha. thanks you all. x)
