'if you could turn back time, would there be anything you'd want to change?'
i always tell myself i should say no to that question, but sometimes i wonder if some decisions i made before should be changed. maybe some things may be different now. maybe i'd be happier now. but on the other hand, maybe i'd be even less happy than i am now.
talking to rene made me think that, yeah. maybe if i'd done some things more differently. my usual excuse is that there have been no chances, but one was clear -- yesterday on the bus, he said, i had a chance. after thinking abit, yeah. the situation was perfect. shoulda gone ahead.
so yeah, maybe to the question above, perhaps, yeah.
but then again, happy can alr.

two reasons why i enjoy being with my cousins so much.
scene: shaun was driving along upper serangoon road. he was supposed to turn left onto tampines road later on.
shaun: eh gimme a heads up when we get near the turning k. i dunno where it is.
cousin: alright, sure.
*5 minutes later*
shaun: eh. the sign here says tampines road turn left right here leh
cousin: yeah, that's why you need to turn here!
scenario: shaun was driving into a hdb estate.
shaun: where's the entrance to the multistorey carpark?
cousin: *points* there there! under the 'no entry' sign.

Nickelback -- If Today Was Your Last Day
My best friend gave me the best advice
He said each day's a gift and not a given right
Leave no stone unturned, leave your fears behind
And try to take the path less traveled by
That first step you take is the longest stride
If today was your last day
And tomorrow was too late
Could you say goodbye to yesterday?
Would you live each moment like your last?
Leave old pictures in the past
Donate every dime you have?
If today was your last day
Against the grain should be a way of life
What's worth the prize is always worth the fight
Every second counts 'cause there's no second try
So live like you'll never live it twice
Don't take the free ride in your own life
If today was your last day
And tomorrow was too late
Could you say goodbye to yesterday?
Would you live each moment like your last?
Leave old pictures in the past
Donate every dime you have?
Would you call old friends you never see?
Reminisce old memories
Would you forgive your enemies?
Would you find that one you're dreamin' of?
Swear up and down to God above
That you finally fall in love
If today was your last day
If today was your last day
Would you make your mark by mending a broken heart?
You know it's never too late to shoot for the stars
Regardless of who you are
So do whatever it takes
'Cause you can't rewind a moment in this life
Let nothin' stand in your way
Cause the hands of time are never on your side
If today was your last day
And tomorrow was too late
Could you say goodbye to yesterday?
Would you live each moment like your last?
Leave old pictures in the past
Donate every dime you have?
Would you call old friends you never see?
Reminisce old memories
Would you forgive your enemies?
Would you find that one you're dreamin' of?
Swear up and down to God above
That you finally fall in love
If today was your last day

a few weeks ago we were helping a pregnant female colleague name her unborn daughter. we came up with a couple cool names and all, but the best was evangeline. cool name, right? so we started talking about the names that were bad. the general consensus was that her daughter shouldnt be given a name that sounds like it was adapted from a guy's name (like eugenia, or shauna or smt).
the kicker? on monday i spotted her on fb. she had a christian name i never knew about.
yeah, you know what kind of name it was.

feel-good moment!
sometime last week, an officer from some other unit emailed me and asked for some clarifications regarding some case. i sent him a fairly lengthy reply explaining why this and that happened and blabla.
yesterday he replied with this "that was a crystal clear and concise explanation. we need more nsfs like you in the saf. thanks a million!"
and the kicker: he copied his thanks to my boss. zomg winnnn. muahahahaha ;DD
anyway if any of you happen to feel bored, try this game:
auditoriumtis an awesome game that involves puzzle-like gameplay and beautiful audio video stuff. and best, its free (well, at least the first 3 acts). must try!

is it wrong to be happy when i see someone sad/angsty? sometimes it just feels so good to be wrong.
shane once said that the happiness in this world is balanced. if you're happy, you're happy because someone else is sad. his example was that of the classic rice farmer -- you're happily eating rice because he's toiling away and earning a meagre salary in comparison to the amount of work put in.
the first thing that came to my mind was that people can be happy even while noone else is made sad, like maybe when listening to a joke. i dont think you can really consider the joke teller to be sad while telling the joke.
but on the other hand some things are clearly sadistic fun. like reading
fml, for instance. the poor people there are breaking up, getting divorced, getting robbed and all that stuff, and us here are reading it and laughing at their sad fates.
sadistic happiness is fun. that's why when it comes closer to the heart, but not too close, it is just plain amazing. especially when you just hate the person.
so yeah. i guess it cant be helped. when someone that i dont like sounds sad/unhappy, i feel great.
